Humanoids Inc. has hired John Cassaday as Chief Creative Officer.
French publisher Humanoids is well known for its bandes dessinees (BD) by Moebius and Jodorowsky as well as the licensor of Heavy Metal in the 1970s. Now, ahead of the company’s celebration of its 20th Anniversary in America it has named Eisner-winning artist John Cassaday as CCO.
"John Cassaday is one of the seminal artists of the comic book industry," Humanoids CEO and publisher Fabrice Giger said. "John created I Am Legion for Humanoids in 2004 and became part of the Humanoids family. From now on, he will play a major role in Humanoids' original content development that will have the industry talking."
Cassaday has won numerous Eisner Awards for Best Penciller/Inker for Astonishing X-Men and Planetary, as well as one for Best Ongoing Series for Astonishing X-Men with Joss Whedon (see “DC Dominates Eisners”).He has done art for DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image and Dynamite.
ICv2 interviewed Humanoids Publisher Fabrice Giger in 2016 as part of its BD week (see “ICv2 Interviews Humanoids' Fabrice Giger, Part 1”). Humanoids added a new imprint for younger readers this summer (see “Humanoids' New All-Ages Line”).
