This is interesting. A guy who used to publish my cartoon wrote a Star Wars comic story for IDW. My understanding is that IDW is deeply in debt. This switch seems to be evidence that comic book publishing is a challenging business to run. Although my understanding is that IDW had their biggest losses from trying to start a gaming business.

EVERYTHING they do bleeds money. It is a unfixable business for IDW at this point.

EVERYTHING they do bleeds money. It is a unfixable business for IDW at this point. Sad to hear. Of all the alternate publishers, I was rooting for IDW the most. Dark Horse lost all of my respect. I posted a few rants about what I felt they were doing wrong. After i did so, I read comments from Barry Windsor-Smith which made similar points. Add all the internal sexual harrasment scanfals on top of that and I'm amazed they are still in business.

Mike Richardson sold a piece of the company to the Chinese to keep it going and to get seed money to make movies and tv based on their properties.
