Dark Horse can't run a company, so I think anyone buying them is wasting their money. They own very little, so anyone buying them is buying a washed up publishing company, not a resource for Intellectual Properties. How many more Hellboy movies can they make?

I wonder if Mike Mignola doesn't own all of the Hellboy property ? `I've never seen any indication that he sold his rights to Hellboy himself. I suspect that Dark Horse may own some of the characters in the greater Hellboy universe. They should own the Comics Greatest World characters like Barb Wire & Ghost.
They've made no progress bringing those charcters to the big screen after the relative flop of Barb Wire.
I think they are tapped out on properties to bring to the big screen. I think their connections for getting movies made have dried up.
That leaves Mike Richardson with a publishing company that can barely pay operating expenses, and retail comic book mail order business for a dying industry that gets horrible customer reviews. I don't blame Mike Richardson for wanting to sell it. He's up in years. This is a good time to get out of it.
