I am familiar with this because Dinesh "liked" one of my posts on Twitter. I clicked on his profile and saw reference to this. Not really sure how he thinks this will grow readership. Odinn's Eye sounds horrid. Somewhere in my old archive of emails, I have one I received from him while he was still in college and before he even considered buying the Valiant properties. I know he picked up the cover to Solar #3 recently. That had to be expensive, so he must be riding a wave of venture capital and buyouts to sustain his own personal income. If if remember correctly, his parents mortgaged their home to buy the Valiant properties.

According to a interview Jim Shooter did, Dinesh was a amateur and didn't know how to get a contract made, how to edit, etc. Just a rich kid that wanted to be a comic book mogul.

According to a interview Jim Shooter did, Dinesh was a amateur and didn't know how to get a contract made, how to edit, etc. Just a rich kid that wanted to be a comic book mogul. Sometimes collectors online get upset with me for being highly opinionated. What they don't realize is that I often have background knowledge that they don't have. When Jim left VEI and was being sued by them, I was the one who alerted Rich Johnston of what they were doing. I had been exchanging direct messages with a friend of Jim. That friend told me exactly what was going on and how VEI was hiding him in a conference room to write for them. At the time, they'd hired Bill Jemas as a consultant and they'd listen to Bill Jemas while ignoring Jim. Someone else was hired to write the movie scripts. Info was exchanged in my communications that covered VEI trying to make a web platform to distribute electronic version of their comics as well as his day to day routine.
Here is a screen capture I made in 2010 from a direct message. It relates to Jim leaving VEI to go work for Dark Horse. Portions redacted for privacy.
Here are some other questions which Jim answered indirectly around the same time. Another slightly redacted screen capture. He mentions some of what he was doing at VEI.
At one point I viewed the floor plan for the VEI offices online because I was curious as to how they could be profitable paying New York rent. Let's just say that their office was extremely small. Extremely small. Even the conference room where Jim was hidden was extremely small. I guess that's what it takes to hold a prestigious New York address on mailings.
