Sitcomics will ship a wave of three comic titles in its Binge Book format on July 31, the company announced. In keeping with its strategy of maximizing the value of its package, Sitcomics is including variant covers from the digital versions of its titles as interior pages in the Binge Book format, with 64 pages with a self-contained story at $3.99.
The company is continuing its direct-to-retailer "Sell-Through Distribution System," which offers a catalog listing the books being solicited, ships the books a week after retailer order cut-off, and offers returnability on issues numbered #2 and above (see "New Comic Book Distribution System").
The three titles shipping July 31 are:
Headhunter Binge Book #1, written by Darin Henry with art by Steven E. Gordon, colors by Glenn Whitmore, and cover by Ron Frenz and Sal Buscema, tells the story of a superhero who rescues an orphaned baby and wants to adopt her, but faces opposition from the Heroes Union, which doesn’t think a homeless, super-powered vigilante is suited for fatherhood.
Blue Baron Binge Book #3, written by Darin Henry with pencils and cover by Ron Frenz and inks by Sal Buscema, Scott Koblish, Al Milgrom and Joe Rubenstein and colors by Glenn Whitemore, introduces Professor Wrath, whose mission in life is to teach the world the power of evil, but his first student is The Blue Baron.
Startup Binge Book #3, written by Todd Dezago with art by Craig Rousseau, colors by Glenn Whitmore, and cover by Ron Frenz and Sal Buscema, tells the story of Startup, the 300 pound single mom who can move at 300 mph, who tries to capture the killer of an innocent bystander killed during a bank robbery.
Sitcomics is also releasing a San Diego Comic-Con variant at its booth at the show: Barbra Macabre’s Morbid Museum #1.1. The story in this 32-page $3.99 variant issue is by Al Milgrom and Neil Vokes, with colors by Glenn Whitmore.
