I'm not hearing great reviews. I think it's funny that Scarlett described Black Widow as a chess piece for the other heroes in the early movies. That's all she ever was.

I like the Marvel movies and the Disney+ shows. Loki is really good. Black Widow is a set up movie to pass the torch to her sister and the formation of the Thunderbolts. Not every movie can be EndGame. You have to have a few singles and doubles before you smash it out of the park. DC's movies, for the most part, are garbage. The money they waste on them is pathetic. One of the problems is they have to cast people for long term and use them in tv and the movies. Marvel is starting to do that right.

The Falcon & the Winter Soldier was okay. The other two are duds in my opinion. Thankfully, I'm seeing them for free.
I didn't really like Endgame either. It was too busy. They wasted time on characters I don't care about like Hawkeye.
The Antman movies are my favorites. I liked Dr. Strange a lot. Nothing on the horizon looks very interesting to me.
A movie like Black Widow should be an opportunity to use less CGI on a cheaper budget and generate a higher profit margin... theoretically. I think the pandemic may have derailed their ambitions. They lost all the steam that would have kept attendance at it's highest.
I'm assuming the Loki series is what sets up Jane Foster as Thor.
That doesn't really interest me either.

There are a couple of problems with Marvel. First, these characters can't wait to take off their masks and expose their identities to the world. One way for the Hollywood actors to say it is me under the mask. They would never do that in the comics. Two, they can't wait to get to the current storylines in the comics, to adapt to movies and tv. Those, in my opinion, are the weakest storylines. Slow down. You have 80 to 90 years of storylines to cherry pick from. The woke mentality has to go.
Falcoln and the Winter Soldier was straight out of Mark Gruenwald 1986 Captain America. Sharon Carter will end up being revealed as a Skrull.
I have no interest in a female Thor. I am surprised that the Thor movies did as well as they did. One and three were ok. Two was weak.
Shang Chi is only being made for the diversity bs. I like the character in the old comics, but the actor playing him has a chip on his shoulder. I heard it is a rip off of Bloodsport but with Marvel characters, which ain't a bad thing.
The Eternals always sucked in the comics, so I don't expect anything from the movie.
They are rushing the Thunderbolts with Thunderbolt Ross in charge of the team instead of Zemo. That is a mistake. I also don't want to see the Green Goblin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Seen enough of the character in the Spider-Man movies.
No interest in The Marvels or Ms. Marvel.
Black Widow was a good , set up movie. Good action scenes. They probally want to get rid of her to get younger, cheaper actors (see Florence Pugh) in new roles.
The reason why Stephen Dorff is pissed off at Marvel is he pitched a Deacon Frost Origins project to them and they said no. Typical. Don't get what you want so you badmouth the rest of their products. Give him a 3 picture deal and Marvel is the greatest thing in the entire world !

My theory has always been that when they shift the stories from Lee/Kirby foundation to 90's & 2000's bastardizations, that movie viewership will drop. There are some good stories to be told, but the inconsistency of modern stories will be what kills the franchise. At some point, the general public will be fed up with superheroes.
I think Eternals will be surprisingly better that the rest.
I saw Black Widow. It was okay. There were no actors in it that I wanted to watch for 2 hours, but I made it through. Again.. it's just okay at best.
